MACBOOK WEBCAM SETTINGS SOFTWARE
That's a shame, because it's a nice app and I bet many people are not using the software simply because they don't know it exists.

It's mentioned in very small print on the box of my new C920, but there's no download link and no instruction manual, however brief. Firefox: Go to a site that wants to use your camera and mic. If this option is grayed out, make sure Let apps use my microphone is enabled. Select Microphone in the left sidebar and then enable access for the app (GoTo) that needs to use the mic. True, it's not hard to find once you start looking, but to be fair to Peter Borsella Logitech doesn't do a great job of promoting either the Mac or Windows versions of the software. If this option is grayed out, make sure Let apps use my camera hardware is enabled. Features True hardware level control of your webcam. Thanks to Aer and others who've helped draw attention to the Mac version of Logi Capture. Dear Macrumors, I have a 2018 macbook pro with touchbar running on MacOS catalina for some time now.

To prevent the Mac from frying I'd prefer to use Logi Capture only for initial setup of the camera, if that's possible. That works, but puts a very heavy CPU load on my 2015 MacBook Pro. Watch popular content from the following creators: Kwini (kwinidyy), appledsign(appledsign), tatumn :(tatumndawn). Click Launchpad in your Macs Dock, then click Photo Booth to launch Apples Photos & Videos application. To run diagnostics, go to Apple > Shut Down and turn off your Mac. Use this software to search for MacBook hardware problems that might explain why the camera is not working or not available. Apple includes built-in diagnostics software with macOS. I see that some – though not all – video apps on my Mac recognise Logi Capture as an input source distinct from the webcam itself. Discover short videos related to macbook webcam on TikTok. Enter the command exactly as we typed it and press Enter. My next step is to try and use OBS or other software as a go-between to keep FaceTime from taking over the camera's settings.Īre the settings made in Logi Capture supposed to be stored in the camera, so that other apps can take advantage of them when Logi Capture itself is not running? In my experience that doesn't work. I'm curious if the others from this thread have a similar experience, which camera/video-using applications have you tried the camera with and does the issue persist if you don't use FaceTime?

While I'm sure there's a CLi option to kill the facetime camera control process, I don't know what it is, and without that only a reboot releases the camera from Apple's buggy crappy clutches. All third party apps (Meet, Zoom, Messenger, etc) have no problem using the settings from both Camera Settings/Logi Capture, and even Photobooth seems ok, but as soon as FaceTime opens it takes control of the camera settings. In regards to the rest of the thread, I've noticed FaceTime is the only application unable to make use of the camera properly. Multiple responses here point to the necessary software that exists for every recent MacOS version. Only for Microsoft LifeCam Studio, Cinema, Logitech HD Webcam C525, C615, C910 and C920 support Zoom, Pan and Tilt, please check our website for camera support. You're right, that does sound stupid, and yes you are just missing it somehow. Supported Settings (varies between cameras) This is driving me nuts cause it seems like a no brainer option that should be there.
